I am your average, middle-aged, Midwest housewife just trying to do my best. I have been married to my best friend since 1981, and our three children are the best things I have ever done. As I'm getting older and my joints are aching and I keep forgetting where I put my keys, I realize I need to stay healthy. And I wish I had realized this importance back in my teens - or earlier. It all really does come down to how you treat your body. I love to ride my bike, walk, golf, knit, do crosswords, read, and have recently started swimming. By being held publicly (at least to me!) accountable, I'm intending for this blog to help me lose those last pesky twenty pounds once and for all! So why write a blog now? At every major point in my life, such as getting married, babies born, kids leaving for college, bike accident, I think "Wow. I should really keep a journal." So here it is, just an ordinary Sunday in Omaha, and I will finally start keeping that diary. And as Woody Allen said, "80% of success is showing up."
