I'm your average retired medical technologist/clinical chemist/inventory specialist/school and community volunteer Midwestern housewife just trying to do my best. Or to borrow from the Hippocratic Oath, primum non nocere: first, do no harm. I have been married to my soulmate (trite, but true) since 1981, and our three children are the best things I have ever done. While I can't take credit for their wonderful partners, suffice it to say that they chose wisely. And have I mentioned our grandchildren?!? We're pretty sure they're geniuses and cuter than yours.
I started this blog in 2012 to hold myself accountable as I was trying to get in shape for our son's wedding (because you know that everyone is looking at the groom's mom in the photos.) It was originally a diary of my attempt at health and fitness, but has morphed into more of a lifestyle look at someone who, while chronologically a "senior", feels much younger. Well, somedays anyway. The postings have become fewer and I've toyed with giving it up altogether, but then I realized how much I write IN MY HEAD ALL THE TIME and how much I like it and how it helps me process life. So I'm still here, because as Woody Allen said "80% of success is showing up."
You can find me walking, riding my bike, golfing, reading, writing, practicing calligraphy, making art, knitting, gardening, being outside, napping, and my personal happy place - spending time with my family.
